POSTGRADUATE ACADEMIC ORIENTATION AT UIN MADURA: BUILDING THE INTEGRATION OF ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE FOR WORLD CIVILIZATION
Pamekasan – September 1, 2025 State Islamic University of Madura (UIN Madura) Postgraduate Program held an Academic Orientation activity with the theme “Building the Integration of Islamic Knowledge for World Civilization” at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year. This activity was held at 08.00 – Finished (West Indonesia Time) at the UIN Madura Auditorium. This event became an important momentum for new postgraduate students of the doctoral program totaling 43 students and master's students 182 students to understand the vision, mission, and direction of scientific development at UIN Madura which is based on the integration of knowledge and Islamic values.
The series of events began with an opening remarks by the Head of the Doctoral Program in Sharia Studies, Dr. Imam Amrusi Jailani, M.Ag. The event then began with a recitation of verses from the Quran and the recitation of prayers by Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir (IQT) students, adding to the solemn atmosphere. Following this, all participants sang the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, as a demonstration of their love for their homeland.
In his first speech, the Director of Postgraduate Studies at UIN Madura, Prof. Dr. H. Atiqullah, S.Ag. M.Pd conveyed an important message regarding the role of postgraduate students as a generation of academics and researchers who are expected to be able to produce innovative ideas.
"This orientation is a very important starting point. Postgraduate students are not only required to understand the sciences in their fields, but also to be able to integrate Islamic knowledge with other disciplines. This is where the great idea for building a civilized and just world civilization is born," said the Director of Postgraduate Studies.
The second speech was delivered by the Rector of UIN Madura Dr. H. Saiful Hadi, M.Pd while opening the Academic orientation event for postgraduate students. He emphasized the importance of integrating Islamic science with modern disciplines to answer global challenges and build world civilization and introduced the UIN Madura campus as a Tanean lanjheng campus which has 8 elements. Just as Tanean Lanjheng unites families in strong bonds, so too the integration of Islamic science with modern science must proceed in the spirit of unity.
"This year's postgraduate students are very special because they are the first batch at UIN Madura. The selected students are part of the proud UIN Madura family and are also the best part for institutions in Madura in particular and Indonesia in general," said the Chancellor.
The opening ceremony was closed with a prayer that the entire series of activities would run smoothly and be full of blessings, led directly by the Head of the MHKI Study Program, Dr. H. Abdul Mukti Thabrani, Lc. M.HI.
Following the opening session, the program continued with a study program orientation. In this session, each Head of Study Program presented the profile, curriculum, and direction of scientific development in their respective programs. Students were given the opportunity to gain a closer look at the academic vision, research opportunities, and scientific collaboration opportunities offered by the UIN Madura Postgraduate Program.
Through this orientation activity, it is hoped that new students will be able to understand the academic direction they will take, as well as foster a spirit to integrate Islamic knowledge with contemporary science in order to produce real contributions to world civilization.
